Esteemed Members
and Distinguished Fellows,
In the blink of an eye, we have arrived at our 2024 annual meeting. I am sure most of you are getting ready to travel next week to enjoy the feast of excellent lectures our program committee has assembled for you. Please remember to inform your friends about our meeting in Seattle, especially those who live on the West Coast, and encourage them to attend. Remember, our annual meeting is open to all physicians, sonographers, and scientists. Single-day registrations are available and are much sought after by attendees who live in the vicinity of the meeting venues. Please amplify our meeting on social media using the hashtag #SRU24 and tag our Twitter (or X, nowadays) handle – @sruradiology.
I’m extremely pleased to inform you that corporate support for our meeting this year has remained strong. This means you will be able to see the latest advancements in the field of ultrasound on the exhibit floor. Feel free to interact with our vendors, who are enthusiastically waiting to answer any questions you may have related to equipment or associated ancillaries. Please make sure to attend the welcome reception on September 27th in the exhibit hall. As in the past, there are some wonderful prizes to be won! We have received more submissions for scientific abstracts this year than in previous years, and the research committee has worked overtime to accommodate as many stellar presentations as they could. In addition to oral abstracts, we have added digital poster presentations (available on the mobile app) this year, with the ability to interact with authors at designated times.
Congratulations to Dr. Shuchi K. Rogers, Dr. Lori M. Strachowski, and Dr. Mindy M. Horrow for leading the multi-society, multispecialty panel and publishing the manuscript “A Lexicon for First Trimester Ultrasound: Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound Consensus Conference,” simultaneously in Radiology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The leadership SRU has demonstrated over the years in establishing these consensus guidelines has been unparalleled. If you have a clinical or imaging observation that needs better guidelines, please feel free to share it with us, so we can add it to the list of topics for consideration at future consensus conferences.
Please have a look at our revamped website, www.sru.org, and make sure your login works. Ensure your membership is current. Explore the committees under the “About SRU” tab and let us know if you would like to volunteer on a particular committee. If you know of any other societies or organizers who would like to invite SRU speakers, feel free to direct them to the “SRU Outreach Program” link on our website. There is now a form they can fill out to request SRU speakers.
The Annual Meeting will be accessible on the mobile app as before, and details will be available to you after you have registered. In addition, this year we will have printed program copies at the reception.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Seattle. Wishing everyone attending the annual meeting a safe journey.
