Keynote Speaker

Address: Ultrasound Measurements: Practice, Pitfalls, Promise

Friday, October 22, 2021 10:15 AM Eastern

Laurence Needleman, MD, FSRU

Laurence Needleman, MD FSRU was born in the Bronx. His radiology residency was at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center where his love of ultrasound was started by working with Eli Kazam. Eli sent him to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was a fellow with Barry B. Goldberg, Al Kurtz and many other fabulous attendings. He has been lucky enough to do all manners of ultrasound from echocardiography to high risk obstetrics to interventional ultrasound. He is best known for his love of vascular ultrasound. He is the second division director of Ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University following BBG. He has served on several SRU and other societal committees, JRC-CVT for vascular technology school accreditation, and has been president of Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. He was a philosophy major in college where he learned to distrust measurements.

Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.

  • Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, SRU staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
  • Threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, SRU staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
  • Disruption of presentations during sessions, in the “virtual” exhibit hall, or at other events organized by SRU throughout the online meeting. All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any SRU online event staff.
