USCON 2025, Jaipur, India

Dr. Priyanka Jha, MBBS, from Stanford University and Dr. Scott Young MD from Mayo Clinic, Arizona had the honor of being SRU ambassadors to the 33rd USCON conference of Indian Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (IFUMB) held in Jaipur, India, in October 2025. This is one of the largest ultrasound conferences in India, attended by many radiologists from the Indian subcontinent and other Asian countries. One of the focus areas of the conference was advancing female pelvic and obstetric ultrasound and the SRU ambassadors brought cutting edge education to the meeting. Dr. Jha presented 5 lectures including the latest updates on O-RADS ultrasound scoring for ovarian lesions, polycystic ovarian syndrome, placental masses, challenging obstetric cases and multiple gestations and fetal interventions for monochorionic twins.

The recent publication from the SRU consensus panel on endometriosis screening on routine pelvic ultrasound was highlighted by Dr. Scott Young. He also presented advanced endometriosis concepts on performing a detailed endometriosis mapping ultrasound and evaluation for bowel invasive endometriosis. He discussed the importance of radiologist and surgeon collaboration in the management of endometriosis and was a part of live panel discussion on imaging for infertility.

Dr. Nirvikar Dahiya, SRU past president, also participated virtually in the conference and lectured on the SRU consensus recommendations for superficial soft tissue masses and on critical findings of renal transplants.

The SRU ambassadors program was invaluable in allowing the speakers to increase awareness of the clinical and education advancements supported by the SRU consensus panels. The talks engaged several enthusiastic radiologists who expressed interest in being international SRU members. The conference and the SRU ambassadors’ lectures were also reported by local news organization, who acknowledged the impactful nature of the SRU participation. The immense success of the USCON 2024 and 2025 speakers has initiated conversations about continued SRU representation at the future meetings of IFUMB and WFUMB. This was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with international colleagues, and the speakers are grateful for the incredible Indian hospitality!
