ONLINE PROGRAM CODE OF CONDUCT
The Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) has always valued a collegial and interactive meeting for its members and attendees. As we go ONLINE again this year, we continue to create and foster a dynamic and positive culture to support our values of inclusion, diversity and professionalism. We welcome all members and encourage open dialogue that does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin or citizenship, language, religion, age, sex, gender identity or disability.
Therefore, during our digitally supported programming, SRU is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and SRU staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, SRU staff members, and service providers, are expected to abide by this Online Program Code of Conduct. This Code applies to all SRU meeting-related events, including those sponsored by organizations other than SRU but held in conjunction with SRU events, on public or private platforms.
SRU expects that all attendees, media, speakers, organizers, staff, and exhibitors associated with any official SRU-sponsored event will adhere to the following principles:
- Respect common-sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, courtesy, and respect for intellectual property.
- Be considerate and respectful of differing perspectives during the meeting.
SRU has no tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment, by participants or our staff at our meetings. SRU strongly encourages avoidance of unacceptable disruptive behavior, defined as:
Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
- Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, SRU staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, SRU staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Disruption of presentations during sessions, in the “virtual” exhibit hall, or at other events organized by SRU throughout the online meeting. All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any SRU online event staff.
Anyone who believes she or he has experienced or witnessed improper conduct should contact the American College of Radiology Legal Office promptly (legal@acr.org or 800.227.5463, ext. 5044). ACR Legal staff will work with SRU to address any matter.
SRU reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable disruptive behavior, and SRU reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting.
