Ultrasound in Developing Countries

Individuals living in developing countries usually have limited access to medical care.  Ultrasound is especially important as an imaging modality in developing countries, as the units have become smaller, portable, less expensive, and there is no ionizing radiation.

Several SRU members have been involved, in various ways, with advancing the use of ultrasound in developing countries.  The SRU ad hoc Committee on Ultrasound in Developing Countries has looked at ways the SRU can help.  SRU members have considerable knowledge that can be applied to endeavors that already exist or are being developed by several different organizations.

This web page seeks to provide information and contacts for SRU members interested in advancing the use of ultrasound services in developing countries.
